CLUB COMPETITION -

Club competitions are conducted at the Townsville Sports Reserve on Friday nights for all age groups commencing at 5.40 pm with warm-up. The first event starts at 6 pm and the program generally concludes between 8 pm and 9 pm, with the youngest age groups usually finishing at the earlier time. We follow a six-week rotating program (see events) and during the course of the six weeks, athletes will have participated in all events applicable to their age group.

The Sports Reserve is located in North Ward (14 Warburton St) and we use both the Burke St & Redpath St entrance for access. Ample on-street parking is available at both entrances. Parking in the vehicular access to the Townsville Sports Reserve on Friday nights is strictly for Committee members ONLY. Committee members use this parking bay to load and unload equipment necessary for club competition nights.

The first two Club competitions of the season are typically “trial nights’ and no points are awarded during this time. Points will be awarded for athletes performances and a personal record for each athlete is maintained throughout the season. Club records are updated and maintained on a regular basis and can be viewed either at the Club competitions or on the web site under “Results”.

Points will ONLY be awarded to athletes who are fully financial and wearing the full Club uniform with ANQ numbers attached. Club records can only be set at the Townsville Sports Reserve by fully registered athletes and must be verified by a nominated official.

In the event of bad weather, please refer to our North Star Facebook page or call the club mobile to find out if the competition has been cancelled.
